From Gail Shea, Quilts4Japan.org to members of EBHQ -- May 24, 2011
Thanks so much for the opportunity last night to talk at your monthly meeting to the EBHQ members about Quilts4Japan.org.
I must say, I was really impressed.
I expected about 20 (maybe 30) quilters and was astonished to see well over 100!
I had never imagined that EBHQ was such an active, dynamic group!
I had so much fun last night and learned so much from Susan Cleveland the speaker.
I really enjoyed the silent auction, too, and came away with quite a treasure trove.
Here is the link to an article I posted earlier today on our Facebook page:
http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/ed20110521a1.html.
It talks about how over 100,000 people are still in shelters, with no end in sight.
quilts4japan.org
sees this as a continuing need.
We will be accepting donations for a very long time.
Thank you all so much for the the lovely quilts that individual members of EBHQ have given us already
as well as the quilts you are putting together in workshops.
The freehand quilting on some of them is just magnificent!
We put photos of all your quilts up on our Facebook page:
